Tajah was born in Malawi (South East Africa) and raised in Southern Africa. She is a self taught dancer with experience in belly dancing and hip hop. She learned to dance by observing different African dances in Southern Africa from Traditional to Afro pop dances. Tajah began performing in high school talent shows in Malawi and Namibia (South West Africa), where she won dance contests and worked as an entertainer for special events at a local club.When she moved to Victoria BC, Tajah was part of a talent show organized by CHTV and performed at local events such as candle light dinners, youth festivals, dance cultural shows and high school shows. When she moved to Vancouver Tajah attended Emily Carr University and was also an entertainer/performer for school events and shows.

Tajah currently performs in films and music videos and entertains at local events. Her interests include: traveling, learning about different cultures, Capoeira martial arts, samba, art and carnivals. Through her travels Tajah’s inspiration has been local people who have a big passion for dancing in townships and villages. Tajah is a friendly, easy going, outgoing person, who really enjoys meeting people from different cultures. She is passionate about dancing and would eventually like to incorporate tribal face painting and costume wear into her classes…

Tajah’s Afro Pop Dance

Tajah’s Afro Pop Dance class is a workout dance class to contemporary music from all over Africa, such Kwaito, Soukous and Kuduro. Students get a good workout, learn unique dance moves, improve coordination and learn to be a free dancer with no limits! Students work in pairs and in a group, adding their own personality and style to whatever Tajah teaches them. This dance class is a fun workout that encourages students to feel free and teaches them what their bodies are capable of doing. Tajah focuses on giving her students have an awesome workout while teaching them some African dance skills, making sure they leave happy and proud of themselves!
