Jasjit founded Joi Works in 1999 to help people express themselves fully in the world by expanding self-expression and trusting the body's wisdom. Her desire is to help others develop confidence by following the scent of joy in their personal and professional lives.

Jasjit is a Certified Brown Belt Nia Teacher, having studied with the Nia founders in the USA, and has been teaching Nia classes and workshops in Vancouver since 2001.

Jasjit brings a love of movement and music, clarity, grace and playfulness to her classes. She draws from her background in wellness education, personal development, and the creative arts.

Personally, Jasjit is inspired by creative self-expression, art, style, and spirit.

She has been showcased by CTV News Hour, Global Morning News, The Express, Channel M and also been mentioned in enRoute and Vancouver magazines.

Nia is a fusion fitness practice that integrates the dance, healing, and martial arts into a seamless workout that is soft impact and lots of fun. Nia was created by Debbie and Carlos Rosas in 1983 in the USA and is now internationally recognized as one of the top body~mind fitness practices in the world.

Nia offers body, mind, spirit integration, following the signs of joy and pleasure to create a holistic experience while ensuring that you get a good workout and sweat! Nia is practiced by people of all fitness levels and improves coordination, tones muscles, helps in weight loss, and leads to healthy and pleasurable movement. This cardio workout is practiced barefoot to an array of music. Nia is excellent for reducing stress, connecting to joy and is known for its healing qualities.

Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move easily and sweat. Nia is done barefoot, but students may wear soft-soled shoes if needed. Each class is artfully guided by the instructor and takes students through warm-up, cardio, and cool down. The class leaves students both relaxed and energized.o keep a positive mindset.
